Parker peices

Parker participated in the Hope of America concert. I love that program. I am always touched that thousands of kids are learning the virtue of freedom and personal responsibility. He loved doing the program, he's had a few years to look forward to it.

During spring break, Parker went up to take a Taekwondo class at the studio his cousins Elsa, Cameron, and Benjamin have been working at for years. The boys were able to get their black belt this year. Master Kim was pleased with Parker's talent and commissioned a master here to train Parker.

When we first met Master Moras, I knew she would be able to help him reach some great goals. He was able to advance a belt within just a few weeks and he is loving it! I love seeing him risk and succeed.

Parker performed with his studio at the summerfest and marched in the Summerfest parade last night. He stands out in his intensity!

I was also very pleased with Parker as school closed. Parker has had a frENEMY relationship with Rich Cracroft this year. When the class assignments were handed out at the end of school, Parker realised that he was in the same class as Rich next year. He was really concerned about it, and gave the family a fair bit of grief over it one evening.

But the next day was the final day of school and I was so pleased when I couldn't find him to see him standing in front of the school talking to Mr. Finch. They held a long and reasonable conversation in which Parker explained his concerns to the principal. Then Parker said that he knows that the teacher he was assigned (Mr. Jacobs) is a really good teacher, but he also knows that Mr. Wyatt is a really good teacher: the teacher doesn't really matter, but being with Rich does. Mr. Finch listened and reassured Parker that if there were any problems in the first weeks of school, we could make a change. I sat in the car smiling that my little boy could solve his problems so maturely when just a matter of months ago, everything was emotion.

We still have some troubles. Sunday mornings are ususally bumpy, minerals are battled, but on the whole, if Parker avoids dyes and dairy, and takes his minerals, he is easy to have around, and he is seeing success again.

Sunday mornings are usually bumpy for me too! That's great that you and he are finding ways to overcome his struggles. :) And that's a great picture of him hugging you. :)
