June 2 -- Acclimating

That first night they arrived after dinner, hot chocolate, and a little conversation, Mr. Mokashi asked to watch "Lord of the Rings." I sent them the disk set after our first trip last year, but their player has codes that prohibit US disks from playing. He's anticipated that movie for a long time! That was the start of the bonus entertainment for the entire house.
Watching movies with the kids Tuesday.

We stayed home the following morning and they presented gifts for us. The girls each got a sari and the boys a tunic. Plus the girls got jewelry and Aleah and Elise each got a sweet punjabi outfit. The boys got some how-things-work books and kits. Dave got a pretty shirt. I got some beautiful jewelry (and a little miffed bunch of friends because I asked for nothing, or worse: for less.) Manisha sent some homemade potato chivda and we got a dosa mix that is really nice. They also brought some chocolates and fruit sweets from Alaska and I think Aleah ate all of them the hour they were brought out.

When it came time for lunch, Mr. Mokashi declined an invitation to go out to lunch. He said that his object for the trip was to trouble me and taking him out would be too easy on me. So he ate a grilled cheese sandwhich, as per his request. No trouble.
