From Dad March 20, 2016

The weather has been extremely nice.  It’s officially the first day of spring.  The crocuses are fading, the daffodils are out, and the apricot tree is in early stages of bloom.  I’m in the middle of pruning, early planting garden preparation etc. We took advantage of a spare 50 minutes yesterday to ride the tandem up to Bridal Veil and back.  Two weeks ago we put 23 miles on it and rode down to Utah Lake State Park (through some truly sketchy areas of inner city Provo) It’s remarkable what a good cleaning and full tuning does for the biking experience and we’ve picked up our average speed by about 1.6 mph.  It’s a lot easier to push the bike to the limits of its capacity and I’m still not satisfied that there aren’t few things we could do to squeeze a few mph out yet.

Cambry and C are still unofficially engaged and simply waiting for the ring which was delayed by two weeks.  Notwithstanding, the plans have proceeded unimpeded.  We now have the dresses for bride, bride’s maids, and flower girls purchased and the date scheduled with the Salt Lake Temple.  (I think I mentioned the date and venue previously.)  It’s a joy to witness a truly wholesome relationship and how it elevates both to a higher plane.  Aside from choosing to remain true to the gospel of Jesus Christ, who you choose to marry is the most important decision you will make in your life and it impacts every facet of your life.  Even the former hinges to significant degree upon the latter.  Leadelle has noted that the actual fruits of the relationship are of greater importance than any chemistry or perceived advantage.  We rejoice with C’s family and see great promise in this partnership between him and Cambry.  She is truly the best side of Cambry we’ve known.

“He is the half part of a blessed man, left to be finished by such as she
And she; a fair divided excellence whose fullness of perfection lies in him.”

The business is doing well, and the larger equipment installation is proceeding well on numerous fronts.  I need some expertise regarding the instrumentation for pressure, temperature, and flow.  We have a few connections for heating loops and some venting issues to address.  Last week we filled one vessel with RO Water to begin testing certain parameters with agitation and vessel interior lighting.  It was exciting and felt like we’d crossed a threshold years in the making.  Whatever happens in the future, I can’t imagine wanting to part with this equipment.  There’s a lot of blood, sweat, and heart in them.  Besides, they’re all paid for…

We’ve enjoyed the pictures and letters. I was so moved by your experience with the Chaad family and their neighbor who had been baptized 42 years ago.  Considering everything in perspective, there’s no doubt you and your companion have been instruments in the hands of God in finding this lost sheep and bringing him back to the fold.  The timing and circumstances under which he was able to reunite with the missionary who baptized him are nothing short of miraculous.  These are the gems which make a lot of seemingly fruitless effort worthwhile.  We’re grateful you and your companion are going to stay in the area for at least another transfer and pray that the Chaad family will progress to the waters of baptism before you leave the area.  We sure love and miss you.  We’re confident in the path you’re on and the importance of the work in which you’re engaged.  Stay the course and keep the faith!  Until next time…

Love,
Dad
