The owners of the UP house charge $50 if you come with balloons and/or in costume to take pictures in front of their house. They greeted us at the gate and we were surprised; how could we anticipate that? They lowered the price a little for us, but it was still a bundle of cash.
Since A's gift was intended to support you on your mission, I feel good about using some of that money for the exploitive UP house sitting fee.
We sure loved your letters this week. It's wonderful to hear that you and your companion are equally yoked in the work. That's a rare gift, as I understand. Keep it up! And then to know that you're seeing success, what a joy. I think of missionaries who gave everything there for years without seeing much success. I'm glad you were called at a time when some Thai hearts are ready to be turned.
I've noticed over the years that a desire to believe opens the door to confirmations from the Spirit. But you CAN talk yourself out of those small and simple whispers if you desire that as well. The key is your desire and your willingness to receive. When you receive and trust the whispers of the Spirit, they increase in your life. When you see and acknowledge the hand of God, there is suddenly more evidence before you of His love and attention in your life. If you will believe.
I love you!
Keep up the good work.
Mom
