Dear Riley,
I have just a few minutes.
But I am thinking of you and missing you and wanted you to know that.
Dad, Cambry and I went to watch Unbroken last night. We sat dumbfounded as the movie concluded as
Louie embraced his mother after arriving home from the war. WHAT???!!!
The whole point of the story is that he was BROKEN as a man, though he
survived the horrors of the war, until the power of God rescued him from the burden
of hatred. And after the power of God
was in him, he was unbroken.
I spent yesterday almost entirely in the girls’ room: the bi-annual gutting. We offloaded a lot of stuff so perhaps it
will stay nice a little while. Maybe
not. However, Dad got the shelves up in
the garage from the window to the door and we have them half loaded
already. Wahoo!
New Year’s Eve we went to the Y’s party. We played a game called Qwirkle which was
really fun. Though I didn’t want to
leave the house, I’m glad I did.
The cold weather froze the apples still in the garage as
well as the onions and the 10 lbs of mandarin oranges I’d just bought. The oranges are still yummy to eat as long
as they stay frozen. But they do give
you a cold headache.
Parker got a portable speaker for Christmas and it was
broken as he fell at the big New Year’s Eve dance. It still plays, but the case is cracked. His cell phone battery, the better one, was
also a casualty in the fall. He slipped
on deliberately spilled pop.
I have to corral Josie and get her and Aleah out the door or
I won’t make it.
I love you,
Mom
PS – Elise completed the Book of Mormon for her challenge
and as at the retreat with the YW. She
was so pleased.
