After we got home from the balloon launch, we made red, white, and blue waffles (blueberry waffles, vanilla ice cream, and cherry sauce) for breakfast. We called Dave's folks over for the delicious feast.
Leadelle's folks came down in the afternoon for an impromptu bar-b-que. All the stress of planning became evident when we just threw together what we had and really enjoyed the slow pace; and the menu didn't suffer the least for it!
After my folks left for Eric's, our family went to the Filippelli's. Omar worked for Dave for six years and they are good friends. They had their pool open. Dave taught Omar the beginings of SCUBA with his buddy regulator at the bottom of the pool while the kids played above. Jackie and I caught up poolside. The Filippelli's followed us home so I could share our trip to India with them in pictures and clothes.
As soon as the Filippellis left, Dave took the kids to see the fireworks that concluded the "Sadium of Fire" concert for which Miley Cirus (Hannah Montana) starred. He took back roads, watched from a hill from afar, and they were home 10 minutes after the show ended. That is a real feat considering it took us two hours to get home from last year's show.
See it was a fun day!
